1. Must download the app. Latest version tested was 1/19/19. 2. paired easily with my Samsung Galaxy S7. 3. Alert (set off an alarm if more than 50 feet away) was DISABLEd by default. Make sure to ENABLE it. Had a nice choice of ringtone alerts. Can also set the length of the alert (5 seconds, 10 seconds, etc.) 4. Map function worked (using Google Maps). When disconnected, showed last location on the map. 5. Photo function is to allow the mini button to use your phone camera shutter, i.e. can use the mini button to take a picture using phone at a distance of up to 50 feet) 6. Find feature uses phone to set off an alarm on the mini when connected, i.e. when within distance (for example, what drawer are my keys in?). However, the mini alarm is not very loud. Have not found a way to control the volume on the mini. 7. The mini connects to the keyring; or you can use the enclosed cloth loop. All-in all, a pretty versatile app and hardware. I suggest turning on the app PRIOR to leaving the house, as their is really no need to keep it running on your phone (unless you forget where you put your keys in your home and need to use the Finder function with the low volume alarm on the mini)
